How to Use the Milk Bill Calculator

This tool is designed to be simple yet powerful. Here’s a quick guide:

  1. Configure Your Settings: In the first column, enter your name, the milk rate per liter, and your standard daily quantity. This is the amount you usually take every day.
  2. Set the Billing Period: Choose a start and end date for your bill. You can use the quick buttons for 'Today', 'This Week', or 'This Month'. The tool defaults to the current month.
  3. Log Exceptions (Optional): The "Daily Log" is for days you take a different amount of milk. For example, if you take extra milk or no milk at all on a specific day, log that date and quantity here. Your logged history will appear below the form.
  4. View Your Bill: The bill slip on the right updates automatically with every change. It calculates the total based on your daily logs and falls back to your standard quantity for any unlogged days within the period.
  5. Print: Click the "Print Bill" button to get a clean, printable version of your bill slip.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the "Extra Milk" calculated?

It’s the total milk consumed (based on your daily logs and standard quantity) minus the standard milk you would have consumed for the total number of days in the billing period. It will be negative if you consumed less than the standard amount.

Is my data saved if I close the browser?

Yes! All your settings and your entire daily log history are automatically saved in your browser's local storage. When you return, your data will be right where you left it.

What happens if I don't add a log for a specific day?

For any day within the selected billing period that does not have a specific entry in your "Logged History", the calculator will automatically use your "Standard Daily Quantity" for its calculation.
